Cather Foundation Selects Pickering - 6/23/08 |
Lincoln, Nebraska - The Cather Foundation, which promotes and assists in the development and preservation of the art, literary, and historical collection relating to the life, time, and work of Willa Cather, has selected Pickering Creative Group to design and develop a new, interactive website for the Foundation. The user-friendly, comprehensive, and highly searchable site will be a top online resource for information pertaining to Willa Cather – her roots, her life, and her legacy.
“We’re excited to begin this project with the help of Pickering’s web team,” says Cindy Bruneteau, Education Director for the Cather Foundation. “With grants from the Nebraska Department of Tourism and Travel and the United States Department of Agriculture, we’ll be able to create a site that will increase education and discussion about the life and works of Nebraska’s legendary figure, Willa Cather,” adds Bruneteau.
To be developed by Pickering, the Cather Foundation’s engaging new website will achieve the organization’s goals including educational outreach, archival access, and programming awareness. Site visitors will learn about Willa Cather, her work, and her home in Red Cloud, Nebraska. With an online bookstore, individuals will be able to access the largest collection of books by, and about Willa Cather. The virtual gallery will feature the Foundation’s extensive cultural displays. And using the new site’s online forum, both teachers and students of Cather will be able to exchange information amongst one another. With the integration of a Content Management System (CMS), the Cather Foundation will also have the ability to independently add, delete, and update selected information.
