Cather Launches Website - 12/08/08 |
 Lincoln, Neb - Pickering Creative Group is pleased to announce the recent launch of the new website designed and developed for The Willa Cather Foundation. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the academic study of Willa Cather and committed to promoting her life and work through conferences and publications.
Visitors to the new site – www.WillaCather.org – are able to learn about Willa Cather, her work, the times she lived in, and her home in Red Cloud. The website also hosts an online bookstore, gift store, virtual gallery, and education forum for teachers and students of Cather. Cindy Bruneteau, Executive Director for the Cather Foundation, says “The new website is comprehensive, user-friendly, and searchable – we are confident it will be a valuable online resource that will further the study of Willa Cather, her life and her legacy.” Development of the website was generously funded by the USDA, the Nebraska Department of Tourism and Travel, and private donations.
The Willa Cather Pioneer Memorial and Educational Foundation (Willa Cather Foundation) was founded in 1955, through the efforts of a small group of volunteers in Red Cloud, Nebraska, led by Mildred R. Bennett. Today, the Foundation is directed by a thirty-member Board of Governors that includes nationally recognized scholars, teachers, and business and professional people from throughout the United States.
