Pickering Promotes Nebraska Towns - 9/11/09 |
Pickering Creative Group is proud to announce the launch of a marketing campaign to promote the communities of Red Cloud and Guide Rock, Nebraska. The purpose of the campaign is to encourage individuals and families who have left the area to return. The campaign is based on a comprehensive communication strategy that the Pickering marketing team developed in conjunction with community leadership.
Both towns boast a rich history, scenic landscapes, and offer many cultural and recreational activities. “It was important that we were respectful of the area’s important history, but also let people know how vibrant these communities are today,” says Laura McLeod, a marketing consultant on the project. With a targeted direct mail campaign and new website – www.redcloudguiderock.com – the marketing plan speaks to the benefits associated with living in Red Cloud and Guide Rock. The area offers solid schools, art exhibits, sports, theater, and countless community events – all without the traffic, congestion, and high prices that can be a part of city living. Their new tagline “Vibrant community, peaceful life” encapsulates what Red Cloud and Guide Rock have to offer.
Red Cloud and Guide Rock were the recipients of a grant from the Building Entrepreneurial Communities Act (BECA). The grants are designed to help rural areas of Nebraska build and sustain programs that generate and retain wealth in the area. To be eligible for the grant, local citizens and businesses must raise funds to match the government grant dollars. Individuals and families from both Red Cloud and Guide Rock participated in the fundraising initiative, and demonstrated the local commitment to community enhancement.
